HOUSTON â€" University of Houston Men's Golfer Blair Hamilton recently was honored as a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar.
Hamilton, who completed his eligibility with the Cougars in the spring, posted a 3.25 grade-point average in communications during his career. He was one of 212 NCAA Division I student-athletes from across the nation to earn this award.

As a senior, Hamilton posted a 72.55 scoring average with 17 rounds of par or better. The Burlington, Ontario, Canada, native enjoyed a career-low 66 in the Second Round at the OGIO Utah Invitational to help lead the Cougars to the team championship and recorded eight top-20 finishes in 2015-16.
In 2014-15, Hamilton became the first player in Houston history to shoot three straight rounds in the 60s in NCAA Regional play to claim a share of the NCAA Lubbock Regional individual title and lead the Cougars to the NCAA Championships. It was his second individual championship of the season after winning the Border Olympics earlier in the spring.
To be eligible, an individual must be a junior or senior academically, complete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50 percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative career GPA of 3.2.
