EUGENE, Ore. -- University of Houston freshman Leonie Harm will make history when she tees off Friday morning at the NCAA Championships at Eugene Country Club.
Harm will become the first Cougar in program history to compete at the NCAA Championships. The Gerlingen, Germany, native earned her place in the nation's premier collegiate event after tying for seventh with a score of 1-under-par 215 at the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional on May 5-7.
Competing on the 6,369-yard, par-72 layout, Harm will compete in a field represented by teams and individuals from No. 1 Alabama, No. 2 USC, No. 3 UCLA, No. 4 Florida, No. 5 Duke, No. 6 Georgia, No. 7 Northwestern, No. 9 Arizona State, No. 10 Arizona, No. 11 Arkansas, No. 12 Stanford, No. 13 Washington, No. 15 Virginia, No. 16 Florida State, No. 17 California, No. 18 South Carolina, No. 19 Furman, No. 20 Oregon, No. 21 Tennessee, No. 24 Texas. No. 25 Ohio State, No. 32 Wake Forest, No. 33 Miami (Fla.), No. 36 Purdue, No. 37 Louisville, No. 38 North Carolina, No. 44 Clemson, No. 46 Michigan State, No. 47 Michigan, LSU, UC Davis, Baylor, Gonzaga
All teams and individuals will compete in 54 holes of stroke play beginning Friday through Sunday. Following Sunday's Third Round, the field will be reduced to the top-15 teams along with the top nine individuals not on an advancing team for one additional round.
Monday's Final Round of stroke play will determine the 72-hole NCAA individual national champion and determine the top-eight teams advancing to match-play competition for the NCAA team national championship.

Competing in only its second season of team competition, Houston missed qualifying as a team by only two strokes at the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional. Under Head Coach Gerrod Chadwell's leadership, the program was added to the Houston Department of Athletics for the 2013-14 season and only began competing for team championships in 2014-15 per NCAA rules.
Despite the program's brief history, the Cougars have established themselves as one of the nation's best. Houston has qualified to compete at an NCAA Regional in every season in which it was eligible and ranks at No. 28 nationally in the latest Golfstat poll.

PAIRINGS
Harm will compete in a threesome with LSU's Elise Bradley and Louisville's Olivia Cason and tee off Friday at 10:25 a.m. (CDT) off No. 1.
For Saturday's Second Round, Harm will compete in the same group but begins her day at 2:55 p.m. (CDT) off No. 10.
Live results can be found online at NCAA.com.
Tee times for Sunday's Third Round will be determined by the standings after the Saturday's Round.
ABOUT HARM
Harm, who only joined the Cougars at the start of the spring semester, became a fixture in the Cougars' starting lineup in the second half of the season.
She moved into the team's starting lineup at the UNF Collegiate on March 7 and helped lead the Cougars to their second team tournament championship of the season.
Harm posted a score of 225, including a Second-Round 69, to help lead Houston to the American Athletic Conference team championship on April 17-19 at Hammock Beach Resort & Golf Club in Palm Coast Fla.
She carried that momentum into the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional on May 5-7. After opening with a Regional school-record 69, she overcame an 82 in the Second Round and posted another 69 in the Final Round to tie as the third individual qualifier for the NCAA Championships
