In the final round, sophomore Jesse Droemer led the Cougars with a 1-under-par 71, his lowest round of the three-day, 54-hole tournament. The Sealy, Texas, native started his day with a bogey but rebounded with a birdie on the 501-yard, par-5 and then capped the front nine with seven consecutive pars on the 6,935-yard, par-72 course at Texarkana Country Club.
Droemer started the back nine hot with birdies on No. 10 and No. 12 before slipping a bit with bogeys on the 14th and 16th holes. However, he rallied again with a birdie on the 291-yard, par-4 17th hole and finished his second straight appearance at the C-USA Championships with a par to tie for 36th with a score of 226.
Freshman Roman Robledo, who entered Tuesday's final round with a share of the lead, posted a score of 76 and tied for fifth with a total of 214. He was named to the Championships' All-Tournament Team, marking the second straight season a Cougar was named to the postseason squad.
Curtis Reed, who was a 2011 C-USA Championships All-Tournament honoree, finished 20th with a score of 220. Junior James Ross, making his C-USA Championships debut, tied for 34th at 225, while sophomore Bryn Flanagan finished 51st with a score of 238.
No. 40 Memphis won the team championship with a score of 859, two strokes ahead of No. 23 UCF. No. 33 East Carolina finished third at 869, while No. 34 UAB and No. 42 SMU tied for fourth at 873.
Following the Cougars, No. 48 Tulsa finished seventh with a score of 888 with Marshall placing eighth at 892. Southern Miss (894), UTEP (898) and Rice (915) rounded out the rest of the field.
On the individual leaderboard, UCF's Greg Eason earned medalist honors at 208 to finish one stroke ahead of Memphis' Jack Belote and SMU's Max Buckley. UTEP's Martin Simonsen finished fourth at 212 with Robledo tying with Memphis' Jonathan Fly and Marshall's Bosten Miller at 214.

Following the Conference USA Championships, the Cougars will learn their NCAA postseason fate. All 81 teams and 45 individuals that qualified to compete at six NCAA Regionals sites will be unveiled on May 7. More information will follow soon.
