HOUSTON - For the final time during the fall season, the University of Houston Golf team will tee it off Monday morning when it competes at the HBU Husky Invitational.
THE FIELD
Competing on the 6,931-yard, par-71 course at Quail Valley Golf Club, the Cougars will square off against student-athletes from Louisiana-Monroe, Sam Houston State, Rice, St. Thomas, McNeese State, Florida Atlantic, Texas-Pan American and host Houston Baptist.
The two-day, 54-hole tournament consists of 36 holes Monday with the final 18 holes slated to tee off Tuesday morning.
THE LINEUP
The Cougars will not compete as a team with only four student-athletes participating. Junior Bryn Flanagan and freshmen Andrew Ertel, Blair Hamilton and Vincent Martino will play as individuals at the tournament.
Flanagan made his season debut at the Harold Funston Invitational on Oct. 8-9 where he finished seventh after posting a score of even-par 216.
Martino made his season debut at the Lone Star Invitational a week ago as an individual. There, he was part of the Cougars' team that captured the team title and finished in a tie for 14th individually with a score of 219. The Southlake, Texas, native opened his collegiate career with a score of 1-under-par 71 and capped his stay with an even-par 72 during the final round.
Ertel and Hamilton each have competed in two tournaments during the fall, including the Funston Invitational in their most recent action. Ertel tied for ninth with a score of 219, lowering his score by two strokes with each round, while Hamilton finished 13th at 221.
UP NEXT
