SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Fresh off a second-place finish in its most recent action, the University of Houston golf team wraps up its fall season Sunday when it competes at the Lone Star Invitational.
The Cougars are part of a competitive field that is composed mostly of NCAA Division I teams from the state of Texas. Houston joins Louisiana-Monroe, North Texas, Sam Houston State, Stephen F. Austin, UTPA, Texas State, UT Arlington, UTEP, Weber State and host UTSA on the par-72, 7,062 yard course at Briggs Ranch Golf Club.
The 54-hole tournament, features 36 holes on Sunday and the final 18 holes Monday with 8 a.m., starts each day.

"We are excited. We have had about 10 days off and have had a chance to come back, catch up on school and evaluate where things are," second-year head coach Jonathan Dismuke said. "This is a great golf course, and we are excited about the week. We are looking forward to getting out and competing."
The Cougars enter the tournament following a second-place finish at the Cabo Collegiate in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on Oct. 2-4. It was the program's second straight top-five team finish to open the season.
Freshman Jesse Droemer used a steady performance to post a score of 218 and tie for 12th place. It was the second straight tournament in which the Diboll, Texas, native led the Cougars.
Fellow freshman Bryn Flanagan lowered his score each day, including a final-round 71 to tie for 18th place with a score of 221.
This marks the second straight season that the Cougars competed at the Lone Star Invitational. A year ago, the Cougars finished 12th.
