ABOUT DAVE WILLIAMS
The event is named in honor of former legendary Houston head coach Dave Williams, who won 16 NCAA team national championships and led eight NCAA individual national champions during his historic career from 1952-87.
Williams also guided his Cougar teams to 14 conference championships and more than 340 regular-season tournament victories.
THE COUGARS
After a pair of top-five team finishes to start the fall season, the Cougars return to action Monday when they compete at the Lone Star Invitational at Briggs Ranch Golf Club in San Antonio, Texas.
That tournament, which features a field mostly of Division I teams from the state of Texas, consists of 54 holes during two days, teeing off at 8 a.m., Monday and Tuesday. It will be the Cougars' final competition of the fall season.
