Golf Set to Compete at 2009 Conference USA Championship

ORLANDO, Fla. - The University of Houston golf team opens play at the 2009 Conference USA Championship on Sunday morning.
The Cougars join 10 teams on the par-72, 7,152-yard course at Red Tail Golf Club. The 54-hole event - hosted by UCF and the Central Florida Sports Commission - tees off at 7:30 a.m. (CDT) each day and runs through Saturday.
The winner of the tournament receives the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals.

Senior captain Ben Moser leads the Cougars with a 73.17 scoring average, while junior Jackie Lindsey ranks second with a 75.0 average. They are the only players to compete in all nine tournaments to date.
Other Cougars scheduled to compete are sophomore transfers Matt Eschenburg and Clark Mitzner and senior captain Brady Shivers.
The Cougars enter the 2009 C-USA Championship after finishing 12th at the River Landing Intercollegiate on April 19-21.
