MISSOURI CITY, Texas - Heavy rain in the Houston area Monday forced the postponement of the University of Houston's first-day appearance at the Husky Invitational.
The Cougars completed their first eight holes Monday morning before the wet weather forced the tournament to be stopped. Depending on the weather, the Cougars hope to return to action at 7:30 a.m., Tuesday to finish their first round and then play an afternoon session in a shortened event.
The Cougars are part of a field, which includes Drake, McNeese State, UTPA, Louisiana-Monroe, Nicholls State, Centenary, East Central, Oklahoma Christian and host Houston Baptist on the par-72, 7,115-yard course at Sienna Plantation Golf Club.
