Golf preps for the Augusta Invitational

HOUSTON-- The University of Houston golf team hits the road as they prep for the Administaff Augusta State Invitational at the par-72, 7,403-yd Champions Retreat Golf Club in Evans, Ga.
The 54-hole tournament kicks off Friday April 4, continues Saturday and finishes up with the final 18 holes played on Sunday April 6.
Houston and tournament host Augusta State will be joined by defending tournament champion Coastal Carolina, Augusta State, Clemson, East Tennessee State, Georgia, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Lamar, Minnesota, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, UCLA, South Carolina-Aiken and Virginia Tech.
Junior Ben Moser (Waterloo, Ontario/Kent State) enters the contest as Conference USA's Co-Golfer of the Week after last week's performance where he tied for medalist honors at the Tucson National Invitational Tournament.
Head coach Vince Jarrett will be using a line-up of senior Jordan Irwin along with juniors Moser, Brady Shivers, Jackie Lindsey and Steven Frazier.
The Administaff Augusta State Invitational is the first of back-to-back tournaments that will keep the Cougars on the road. Houston will compete in the North Carolina State Intercollegiate in Wallace, NC. April 11-13
