Volleyball falls to Cincinnati in four

The University of Houston volleyball team started its final regular season Conference USA road trip with a four game loss at the hands of No. 24 Cincinnati Friday night at the Shoemaker Center in Cincinnati Ohio.
The Cougars (8-16, 4-6 C-USA) dropped game one 30-20, but bounced back in game two tying the match at one game apiece with a 30-26 win.
In game three the Bearcats held off Houston for a 33-31 win and sealed the match with a 30-23 win.
Kelly McAnelly led the Cougars with 21 kills and a .321 hitting percentage while Cinthia Piva added 18 kills and 16 digs for another double-double. Loure Dews finished with 13 kills, Jaci Gonzalez had a match high 21 digs and setter Mirela Vasconcellos finished with 41 assists.
Houston will be in action again Saturday night when they take on No. 22 Louisville at 7:30 p.m.
