• Pete Brown joined the University of Houston Football in March as a Defensive Analyst. The 2025 season will be his second with the Cougars after spending the 2023 season at Tulane as a Defensive Analyst for Advanced Scouting.
• In 2024, Houston ranked 26th nationally and 18th in the Power Four in total defense (324.8). The Cougars held opponents under 100 yards rushing five times, ranking 21st nationally and second in the Big 12, while limiting the opposition to one or no rushing scores in nine different contests. Through the air, Houston's 2,266 passing yards allowed were its fewest in a non-COVID season (eight games played) in 30 years (2,160 yards in 1994).
• At Tulane, Brown worked primarily with the defensive staff and offensive analysts scouting upcoming opponents.In 2023, the Green Wave ranked in the top 25 nationally in scoring defense (22nd), rushing defense (19th) and turnovers gained (3rd).
• Prior to Tulane, Brown was an Assistant Coach working with the tight ends and running backs at Iowa Western Community College from 2020-23 where he helped Iowa Western to the 2022 NJCAA National Championship.
• Iowa Western produced eight NCAA Division I athletes from Brown’s position groups during his four years in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
• Over his final three seasons at Iowa Western, went 27-4 with back-to-back NJCAA National Championship berths.
• In 2019, Brown spent a season in the Alliance of American Football League with the San Diego Fleet as an assistant coach specifically with the linebackers and special teams groups.
• The Fleet finished the 2019 season second in the AAF in total defense, rush defense, and fourth down efficiency while finishing third in third down efficiency and scoring defense.
• Brown spent one season as the Run Game Coordinator at MidAmerica Nazarene University in 2018.
• Brown’s first season as an assistant coach came at CSU-Pueblo in 2017 where he served as the running back coach and helped lead CSU-Pueblo to the RMAC Championship and a NCAA D-II playoff appearance.
• CSU-Pueblo’s Marche Dennard finished second in rushing yards per carry in the RMAC in 2017 (6.6).
• As an Offensive Quality Control at Louisville in 2015-16, he worked with the offensive linemen the year Louisville was top 15 nationally in yards per game (2nd), offensive efficiency (3rd), QB rating (3rd), total offense (4th), first down efficiency (9th), rushing yards (12th) and passing yards (14th).
• While at Louisville, Lamar Jackson was the 2016 ACC Player of the Year, Maxwell Award winner, AP Player of the Year, Heisman Trophy winner and Walter Camp Player of the Year.
• Has spent four seasons on staff at Power 5 football programs, spending time in the Big12 and ACC from 2013-16.
• Was a graduate assistant at the Division I and Division II levels from 2010-15, spending the 2013-14 seasons at Iowa State, the 2012 season at the University of Nevada, after getting his first college football job at Lindenwood as a Graduate Assistant from 2010-11.
• Brown received his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Lindenwood in 2011 and started on his Masters in Educational Leadership at Iowa State from 2013-15.
• Brown is the son of a long-time high school football coach in Kansas City, Mo., Paul Brown.
• Brown signed with University of Central Missouri where he played for Coach Fritz before transferring and finishing his career at Lindenwood University.
• Married in 2023, Brown and his wife Paige reside in Pearland, Texas, with their daughter Peyton.
