Kaleb Whitehair joined the University of Houston Athletics Department Sports Medicine as a Physical Therapy Fellow in June 2024.
He was elevated to his current position as associate director and director of physical therapy services in April 2025.
In that role, he plans and coordinates rehabilitation programs for student-athletes across all 17 Houston sport programs, including non-operative and post-operative injuries and serves an an assistant athletics trainer for Houston Football.
In addition to his Sports Medicine duties, Whitehair also provides adjunct teaching and mentorship for Houston Athletics training and Memorial Hermann physical therapy students.
Prior to joining Houston, Whitehair worked as a physical therapist and served as a sports physical therapist resident with the University of Kansas and Lawrence Memorial Hospital from 2022 to 2023.
He began his professional career as an outpatient physical therapist at Salina Regional Health Center in his hometown of Salina, Kan., in January 2021.
Whitehair received his bachelor's degree in health sciences (pre-physical therapy) from Kansas Wesleyan in 2017. He earned his doctorate in physical therapy from South College in Knoxville, Tennessee., in 2020, with cum laude honors.
As an undergraduate, he was an All-Conference student-athlete for the Football program and received the Champions of Character Medallion. He also was elected president of the Student Government Association.
Whitehair is single and lives in Houston.
