- Offensive Graduate Assistant
• Carson Hemric joined University of Houston Football as its Offensive Graduate Assistant in June 2024. The 2025 season will be his second with the Cougars.
• During his first season with the Cougars, sophomore quarterback Zeon Chriss finished the season as one of eight Power Four underclassmen QBs with 750+ passing yards and 350+ rushing yards. Chriss's 63.8 completion % ranked 10th among Power Four underclassmen QBs (min. 100 attempts) while on the ground, his 35 missed tackled forced rushing ranked fifth among Power Four QBs.
• Combined with efforts from senior quarterback Donovan Smith, Houston ranked third in the Big 12 Conference and 29th nationally in completion percentage (65.0%).
• Chriss, whose 1,212 yards of total offense ranked 21st among Power Four underclassmen QBs, finished 11 of 11 passing while leading the Cougars to their highest ranked win in seven seasons with a 24-19 victory over #17/15 Kansas State on Nov. 2. Chriss became the 23rd FBS quarterback since 1996 to complete all passes in a game (min. 10 attempts) and first Houston quarterback to accomplish the feat.
• Hemric joined the Cougars from Louisiana Tech where he served in the same capacity. There, he was responsible for playbook and install drawings. He managed self-scout and was responsible for opponent breakdown. He also crafted practice scripts and assisted with recruiting operations.
• Prior to Louisiana Tech, Hemric served as an Offensive Analyst at ULM where he was responsible for playbook and install drawings, self-scout breakdowns and opponent breakdowns. There, he prepared running back and wide receiver meetings and assisted with recruiting operations for the positions. At practice, he managed scout team operations. On game days, he was responsible for defensive ID and charting.
• Before ULM, he worked as an offensive graduate assistant and tight end coach at Northeastern State. There, he was responsible for film breakdowns and scout cards. At practices, he handled tight ends, scripting and assisting with special teams. On game day, he provided charting and defensive IDs. Hemric also was heavily involved with equipment operations, including game day set up, and recruiting.
• As a Student Assistant at Appalachian State from 2018-22, Hemric worked primarily with wide receivers and special teams. He was responsible for install tapes for spring ball and fall camp. He also prepared all wide receiver position meetings and practice breakdowns.
• Hemric supported efforts for the 2018 Sun Belt Conference Champions and New Orleans Bowl Champions at Appalachian State. The program repeated as league champion and New Orleans Bowl champion in 2019. App State won the 2020 Myrtle Beach Bowl and appeared in the 2021 Boca Raton Bowl.
• Hemric received his Bachelor of Communications Studies from Appalachian State. He received a minor in Sports Science and Coaching.
