Cougars Earn Top Three Finish in Team Diving

Houston takes third in team diving, fourth in the 800-freestyle relay
GREENSBORO, N.C. – University of Houston Swimming & Diving earned third place in team diving as the first day of the Big 12 Swimming & Diving Championships came to a close in the Greensboro Aquatic Center on Tuesday.Â
The trio of junior Michelle McLeod, sophomore Caroline Roelen and freshman Maisy Woloszyn tallied 289.70 to take home the bronze.Â
The 800-yard freestyle relay squad of senior Liya Goupil, sophomore Sienna Bruner, junior Evelyn Entrekin and junior Elizabeth Jimenez landed fourth following a last-second battle against Cincinnati clocking in with a time of 7:13.40.Â
Houston finished day one with 106 points. #23 Arizona sits in the lead with 172 points followed by #17 Arizona State (168), Cincinnati (158), Utah (150), TCU (150), Kansas (148), BYU (136), Iowa State (122) and WVU (120).
UP NEXT
The Cougars will begin day two of competition inside the Greensboro Aquatic Center on Wednesday with prelims starting at 9 a.m. CT and finals starting at 4 p.m CT. The meet will be streamed live on ESPN+.Â
