Volleyball Earns Fifth Consecutive AVCA Team Academic Award

HOUSTON – The University of Houston Volleyball program earned the 2025 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award, the organization announced Monday. It marked the fifth consecutive honor for the team and seventh in the program's history.

The award recognized programs who maintain at least a 3.3 year-long GPA. Over 1,400 collegiate and high school volleyball programs, both women's and men's, collected this year's honor.

Houston had nine student-athletes earn Academic All-Big 12 honors, highlighting those who maintained at least a 3.20 GPA while playing in at least 20 percent of the team's scheduled contests, while also placing four on the College Sport Communicators Academic All-District Team.
