HOUSTON – Houston Athletics will host a Disaster Relief Drive Thursday and Friday to assist with the ongoing recovery efforts in Kerr County in the aftermath of the flooding that struck the area over the Fourth of July weekend.
"The catastrophic events in Central Texas over the Fourth of July weekend are a reminder to all of us of the preciousness of life and the power of community," Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Eddie Nuñez said. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the families, loved ones and friends of those lost, as well as with the people of Kerr County and beyond impacted by the floods.
Houston Athletics is strong because of our community, and we want to do all that we can to lift up our fellow Texans. Communities across Texas, including Kerr County, have been devastated — with lives lost, homes destroyed, and families left to rebuild from the ground up.
In times like these, Texans show up for each other.
We're calling on the Cougar Family to come together and help us collect essential supplies for our neighbors in Kerr County. Your generosity can make a real difference for those who are hurting most right now.
Together, we'll pack and personally deliver it to Kerr County later this week — a true symbol of Texans helping Texans.
Whether you're able to donate one item or many, your support matters. Let's show what it means to be part of the Cougar family and a proud Texan.
