Cougars play an 18-match conference slate, including nine inside Fertitta Center
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Volleyball team and the Big 12 Conference announced the Cougars' 2025 league schedule Monday. As part of 18 conference contests, Houston will host nine in Fertitta Center with another three inside Texas.Â
Â
In the league's schedule matrix, Houston battles Baylor, TCU, Texas Tech and UCF as part of a home-and-home series while facing off against the other 10 league foes once at home or on the road.  The Cougars clash with Arizona, Arizona State, Iowa State, Kansas and Kansas State in the Bayou City and meet BYU, Cincinnati, Colorado, Utah and West Virginia on the road.Â
Â
Kansas, Arizona and Arizona State will make their first journeys to Houston since the Cougars joined the Big 12 for the 2023 season while the Cougars will head to Colorado, Utah and West Virginia for the first time as league opponents.
Â
The Cougars open their Big 12 agenda on Sept. 24 with a trip north to TCU followed by the team's home conference opener on Sept. 27 against Texas Tech. Houston then opens a four-match road trip on Oct. 1 at Baylor, followed by tilts at Colorado (Oct. 4), Utah (Oct. 9) and BYU (Oct. 11).Â
Â
Head Coach David Rehr's squad returns to Fertitta Center for a trio of matches in the middle of October, beginning on Oct. 16 as Kansas visits Space City for the first time in the all-time series. The Cougars then scrap with Arizona on Oct. 19 and long-time conference rival UCF on Oct. 22.Â
Â
After a week break, the Cougars will be back in action as they head to Morgantown, W. Va., to play the Mountaineers for the first time since 1988 on Oct. 30 before tangling with the Bearkats in Cincinnati two days later. Houston wraps up its road stretch on Nov. 6 for a rematch against the Knights in Orlando, Fla.
Â
Back at home for a four-match homestand, the Cougars battle Iowa State (Nov. 13), Baylor (Nov. 15) and Kansas State (Nov. 19) before closing the stretch with Arizona State on Nov. 21.Â
Â
Houston wraps up its road slate on Nov. 26 in Lubbock, Texas, against the Red Raiders and closes its conference schedule on Nov. 29 against TCU inside Fertitta Center.Â
Â
The Big 12 features six teams that made the 2024 NCAA Tournament while 10 of the league's 15 teams have made the Tournament in the last three seasons.Â
Â
Ticket and broadcast information for the 2025 season will be released at a later date.
