
Saint Germain Leads Women’s Golf at Big 12 Championships

Junior ties for 10th to earn place on All-Tournament Team


As a team, the Cougars posted a score of 881 to finish seventh.
Sophomore Maelynn Kim tied for 19th with a score of 220 while senior Hyeoni Kang tied for 37th at 225. Junior Moa Svedenskiold tied for 40th at 226, and junior Alexa Saldana tied for 57th at 234.
Arizona, Arizona State and Oklahoma tied for the team title at 871 and held a playoff with one student-athlete from each schools at No. 1, No. 10, Nos. 15-16 and No. 18.
Arizona finished with a score of 20 to capture the team championship while Arizona State finished second at 21 with Oklahoma State in third at 22.
The tournament featured 10 of the nation's Top-40 programs, according to the latest Scoreboard by Clippd national rankings.
Kansas State's Sophie Bert earned medalist honors with a score of 2-under 211. Teammate Carla Bernat, Beth Coulter (Arizona State), and Arizona's Nena Wongthanavimok tied for second at 213.
TCU (872), Kansas State (877) and Iowa State (880) completed the Top-Six leaders while BYU (898), UCF (899) and Kansas (900) rounded out the Top 10.

Following the Big 12 Championships, the Cougars learn their NCAA postseason destination during the NCAA Selection Show. That show will air at Noon, April 23, on Golf Channel
The Cougars will compete at one of six NCAA Regional sites across the nation. Those six sites include Birdwood Golf Course (Charlottesville, Va., hosted by Virginia); Scarlet Course – OSU Golf Club (Columbus, Ohio., hosted by Ohio State); Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club (Golf Canyon, Arizona., hosted by Arizona State); University Club of Kentucky (Lexington, Ky., hosted by Kentucky); Rawls Course (Lubbock, Texas, hosted by Texas Tech); Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club (Norman, Okla., hosted by Oklahoma).
The Top-Five teams at each NCAA Regional site advance to the NCAA Championships, set for Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, Calif., on May 16-21.
