
Grelz, Cullen Secure Big 12 Conference Weekly Honors

Grelz picks up her first of the season while Cullen earns her fourth
HOUSTON – Two member of the University of Houston Swimming & Diving team received weekly honors from the Big 12 Conference, the league announced Wednesday. Lottie Cullen was named Newcomer of the Week for the fourth time in the 2024-25 academic year and Hedda Grelz collected her first Diver of the Week title.Â

Cullen swam the fastest 100- and 200-yard backstroke times in the Big 12 this week with marks of 53.84 and 1:57.49, respectively. The times locked up first place against Rice in both events. She also led off the 400-yard medley relay team, posting a split of 53.83 for a team time of 3:37.69. Cullen also recorded a time of 2:05.85 in the 200-yard individual medley as an exhibition swimmer in the event.

Grelz dominated on the 3-meter in the meet against Rice, posting a season-high score of 315.83. Included in her score was fourth-round dive the accrued 58.80 points on a back two-and-a-half somersault tuck, a 2.80 difficulty dive. Two rounds earlier, she collected 7.5-all scores on the forward two-and-a-half somersault pike for 54.00. She went on to take third place in the 1-meter with a mark of 287.78.Â
