Four Cougars finish with 15 points, senior guard Milos Uzan tallied 10 assists
HOUSTON (AP) – Freshman guard Kingston Flemings, freshman forward Chris Cenac Jr., redshirt freshman Chase McCarty and sophomore guard Mercy Miller each scored 15 points, and the #7/8 University of Houston Men's Basketball team reached its 10th win with a 99-57 victory over New Orleans inside Fertitta Center on Saturday afternoon.
Flemings and Cenac combined to shoot 11-of-19 from the field for Houston (10-1), which won its 10th straight at home and has won 22 straight nonconference home games.
Houston's point total was the most the Cougars scored since a 100-52 win over Norfolk State inside Fertitta Center on November 29, 2022.
The Cougars saw 10 of the 11 student-athletes who played score points with nine finishing with 6+ points.
The Cougars shot 54%, including 11-of-23 from distance, and were-24 of-31 from the charity stripe. Houston forced 21 turnovers resulting in 29 points while only committing six turnovers itself.
The Cougars also had 23 assists on 32 field goals, led by senior guard Milos Uzan, who matched a career-high with 10 assists and no turnovers in nearly 30 minutes of action.
MJ Thomas scored 17 points and eight rebounds to lead New Orleans (3-8). The Privateers shot 38% from the field and went 19 of 23 from the free-throw line.
Houston went on an early 21-2 run and took a 27-6 lead on a 3-pointer by freshman guard Isiah Harwell midway through the first half. Flemings scored six points during that burst.
With 15 points, McCarty McCarty nearly doubled his previous career high of eight points, set against Rider (November 20, 2025). His three 3-point field goals also set a personal best in that category and topped his previous best of two treys against #17/16 Tennessee (November 25, 2025) and vs. Rider (Nov. 20, 2025).
Senior guard Emanuel Sharp buried his first 3-point attempt of the day, extending his streak to 26 consecutive games with at least one trey. That tied with guards Corey Davis Jr. (December 23, 2018 to March 30, 2019), Jherrod Stiggers (Feb. 5, 2014 to Jan. 15, 2015) and Kelvin Lewis (March 7, 2009 to February 6, 2010) for the sixth-longest streak in school history.
