Georgiades Named VolleyballMag.com Fourth Team All-American

HOUSTON – University of Houston Volleyball graduate libero Kate Georgiades was selected as a Fourth Team All-American by VolleyballMag.com, the outlet announced Wednesday. The honor clinches Georgiades' fourth consecutive season with an All-America accolade, becoming the program's first four-time All-American.

Georgiades capped a stellar collegiate career in 2024. Becoming the 27^th player to reach 2,500 career digs in NCAA Division I, she finished her eligibility with 2,562, the 22^nd most in NCAA Division I history. She tallied 532 digs in 2024, averaging 4.97 per set, both marks leading the Big 12 Conference while ranking 22^nd and 39^th nationally, respectively.

The graduate finished 27 of 28 matches this season with double-digit digs, including 11 with 20-plus and three with 30-or-more.

A four-time All-Conference First Team honoree, Georgiades was also a three-time Conference Libero of the Year awardee and a four-time AVCA All-Region selection.

Georgiades previously earned All-America Honorable Mention honors from the AVCA in 2022 and 2023 as well as four selections from VolleyballMag.com, including Third Team accolades in 2023, Fourth Team selections in 2022 and 2024 and Honorable Mention laurels in 2021.

The College Station, Texas, native was selected by the Columbus Fury with the fourth pick of the fifth round in the 2024 Pro Volleyball Federation Draft. She reported to training camp with the team earlier this month.

The graduate completed her eligibility placing second in team history in digs per set (5.07), third in Houston history in total digs (2,335) and seventh in service aces (110). Her 532 digs in 2024 ranked as the 10th most by a Cougar in the current era (post-2008) while her average of 4.97 per set placed her ninth in the current era.

Georgiades is one of 10 selections from the Big 12, joining TCU's Melanie Parra (Second Team), Arizona State's Mary Shroll (Second Team), Argentina Ung (Third Team), Geli Cyr (Honorable Mention) and Claire Jeter (Honorable Mention), BYU's Claire Little (Honorable Mention), Kansas' Toyosi Onabanjo (Honorable Mention) and Camryn Turner (Honorable Mention) and Utah's Kamryn Gibadlo (Honorable Mention).
