Houston student-athletes earn high academic marks
HOUSTON – Houston student-athletes put forth another strong semester during the fall 2021 academic term, posting a 2.8 GPA, with six programs registering marks of 3.0 or better.
Twenty-three student-athletes earned degrees in December while 100 total were honored on the Dean's List. Fourteen Cougars posted perfect 4.0 GPAs.
Cougar men's and women's cross country led the field with a 3.41 GPA as three student-athletes posted perfect 4.0 marks during the fall. Other programs with 3.0 GPAs included volleyball (3.39), soccer (3.34), tennis (3.31) softball (3.28) and swimming & diving (3.25).
Houston student-athletes passed 92% of hours of hours taken, up from 75% in spring 2021 while 217 student-athletes registered a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
