Cougars will face Rice in final tune-up before Championships
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Swimming & Diving team will host Rice in one final tune-up before the postseason when the teams meet at the Houston First Chance Invitational. Meet action is set to begin at 10 a.m. on Friday at the Campus Recreation & Wellness Center.
Â
The Cougars return to action after a week-long hiatus for their last regular-season meet. Houston is set to face cross-town foe Rice for the fourth time this season when the squads meet at the CRWC. The meet will feature long-course meters races in the first portion, followed by short-course yards races in the second portion as the teams prepare for the postseason. Houston is receiving two votes in the latest College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America poll (CSCAA). The Owls are 5-3 in dual meets this season, one of those losses coming against the Cougars.
