Houston Cross Country Announces 2019 Schedule

Cougars set for four regular-season meets, including one in Houston
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Men and Women's Cross Country and Head Coach Steve Magness are happy to announce the 2019 schedule.
The 2019 Houston Cross Country squad will return to action on Aug. 30 in College Station when the Cougars open their season at the Aggie Opener. Two weeks later Houston will head across town to Rice for the Rice Invitational on Sept. 13. The men's squad started the 2018 season off with a pair of top-three finishes at the Aggie Opener and Rice Invitational. On the women's side, Houston finished 4th at the Aggie Opener and third at the Rice Invitational last season.
The Cougars will make a trip to Lake Charles on Sept. 28 for the Lake Charles Toyota Cowboy Stampede hosted by McNeese to conclude the month of September.
Houston will compete once in the month of October, heading to California for the Santa Clara Invite on Oct. 19 to conclude the regular season. This is the Cougars second straight trip to the Santa Clara Invite. Meredith Sorenson looks to improve upon her team-leading 37th-place finish at the event last year.
Houston will open the championship portion of the schedule on Nov. 1 when the squad heads to Memphis, Tenn. For the American Athletic Conference Championships. The NCAA South Regional will take place on Nov. 15 in Fayetteville. Ark., followed by the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Ind. At the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center on Nov. 23.
