Cougars Finish Top-10 at Texas A&M Invitational

COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The Houston Cougar Men's and Women's Cross Country teams posted a pair of ninth place finishes at the Texas A&M Invitational on Saturday.
WHERE THEY RANKED
Women's Finish (6,000-meters): Ninth (262 points)
Men's Finish (8,000-meters): Ninth (270 points)
Top Women's Finisher: Selena Sierra, 27th, 21:45.3
Top Men's Finisher: G.J. Reyna, 24th, 25:12.8
SIERRA'S SURGE CONTINUES
Proving that a year away from the course did nothing to slow her down, redshirt senior Selena Sierra continued her impressive season with her third straight top finish on the women's side. Sierra ran the 6K in 21:45.3 to finish 27th.
Senior Maria Gonzales was next to cross the line in 60th with a time of 22:49.6, while Emely Morgado followed in 23:05.4 to place 75th. Houston's scoring on the women's side was wrapped up with an 81st place finish in 23:17.7 by Jennifer Dunlap and a 23:42.3 time from Ebony White which placed her 93rd.
REYNA TOPS AGAIN
Sophomore G.J. Reyna was the first Cougar men's runner to cross the finish line for a third consecutive event. Reyna finished in 25:12.8 to place 25th. Matt Parmley and Cameron Laverty were the next two Cougars to cross the line, with Parmley taking 48th in 25:55.3 while Laverty ran 26:34.5 to finish 76th. Kody Anderson (26:56.2) and Nicholas Hamilton (27:12.1) rounded out the scoring in 92nd and 106th, respectively.
