PREVIEW: Houston Visits East Carolina, Cincinnati

HOUSTON -- The University of Houston Volleyball team will continue American Athletic Conference play and conclude the road portion of its 2016 schedule visiting East Carolina in a 6 p.m. match on Thursday and Cincinnati in a noon tilt on Saturday.
The Cougars enter Thursday looking to snap an 18-match losing streak. Houston fell to both Yale and host Rice in the Rice Adidas Invite II to close out non-conference play and has since opened league play with an 0-16 record.

• The Cougars, who are 25-49 all-time in The American, lead ECU 16-4 (Sets: 51-21) in the all-time series and are 7-2 (Sets: 22-11) in visits to Greeneville, N.C. Houston trails Cincinnati 8-11 (Sets: 31-39) all-time and is 3-5 (Sets: 12-17) when visiting the Bearcats.

Following Saturday's match, the Cougars will host USF on Nov. 23 and UCF on Nov. 25 to conclude the 2016 season. The Nov. 25 matchup will mark the final home match for two seniors -- defensive specialist Marisa Guzman and middle blocker Hunter Wise.
