Brookah Palmer Named The American Offensive Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Freshman hitter Brookah Palmer was named the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for her outstanding week on the road.
This is the second Offensive Player of the Week award for the Carrollton, Texas, native. Earlier in the season, the freshman garnered the first Offensive Player of the Week of the 2015 season.
She tallied 36 kills (5.14 kills per set), hitting .322, and 23 digs in seven sets played. Palmer recorded her 12th and 13th double-double of the season with 20 kills and 10 digs in the three-set win over Tulsa and 16 kills and 13 digs in the four-setter at SMU. Her 20-kill performance at Tulsa is a season match high for the team.
Palmer has totaled 451 kills on the year and a hitting average of .239. She also leads the team with 44 service aces and has tallied 261 digs as a six-rotation player. Palmer has made her way into the national statistical categories as she ranks in the top 30 for kills and is the leading hitter in The American.

Houston Volleyball returns home for the final two matches of the season inside the Athletics/Alumni Center. The Cougars welcome Tulane on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. first serve. On Friday, Houston hosts East Carolina for a 7 p.m. start on Senior Day.
