HOUSTON â€" The University of Houston Volleyball continues its conference road stretch when the Cougars head to New Orleans, La., for a midweek matchup.
The Cougars (13-3, 3-1) are set to face travel partner Tulane (7-9, 1-3) Wednesday at 7 p.m. Houston enjoys the rest of the week off until the team travels to Greenville, N.C., to take on East Carolina on Sunday.
QUICK HITS ON HOUSTON LAST TIME OUT Against USF, senior libero Olivia O'Dell had a career night as she recorded 37 digs. Her performance is now the fifth most in school history for most digs in a five-set match and earned O'Dell a spot on the American Athletic Conference weekly Honor Roll for her fifth award of the year. Freshman outside hitter Brookah Palmer recorded her sixth double-double of the season while sophomore setter Keandra McCardell tallied her fifth double-double of the season. Sophomore transfer Shelby Harper had her best showing of the season as she tallied seven kills, two service aces and five blocks. In the five-set upset over UCF Sunday, redshirt freshman middle blocker Chenelle Walker led the Cougars from the middle with 12 kills, hitting .476, and five blocks. Junior right side Hunter Wise also posted 12 kills, three digs and nine blocks in the five-set win. O'Dell tallied 23 digs in the five sets, marking 16th consecutive double-digit dig match.
