Houston Volleyball Falls to USF, 3-1

| HOUSTON - The University of Houston Volleyball team fell in four sets (17-25, 25-27, 26-24, 24-26) to South Florida Friday night to open the Cougars final home weekend.
Houston dropped to 14-15, 6-11 in the American Athletic Conference while USF improved to 12-15, 6-9 in conference play. With a win tonight, the teams split the series 1-1 on the year.
The Bulls quickly took a 2-0 lead heading into the half. But a defensive and scrappy third set pushed Houston back into the game. The Cougars regrouped and held USF to a .053 hitting average.
Freshman setter Keandra McCardell picked up her eighth career double-double with 41 assists and 12 digs against the Bulls.
Senior Kadi Kullerkann led the Cougars with 25 kills, hitting .226. With her performance tonight, Kullerkann extended her double-digit streak to 29 matches. Cortney Warren also tallied double-digit kills against the Bulls. She picked up 10 kills, five digs and two blocks.
Senior libero Natalie Keck tallied 17 digs on the night. She was honored prior to the match by head coach Kaddie Platt for reaching her 2,000th career dig last weekend at Memphis.

Houston Volleyball returns to the court Sunday as the Cougars host UCF for the home finale and Senior Day. Four seniors, Natalie Keck, Kadi Kullerkann, Kaiti Waters and Cortney Warren, will be honored for their hardwork and dedication to Houston Volleyball. First serve is set for 1 p.m. and the senior ceremony will take place following the match.
