HOUSTON - In the season finale the University of Houston volleyball team dropped to in-state rival SMU in three sets (17-25, 17-25, 18-25) Wednesday evening.
The Cougars close out the season 18-14 and 10-7 in the American Athletic Conference. SMU improves to 22-9, 14-4 in conference play.
Senior Meredith Ware was honored after the match as a part of Senior Day and was a part of the starting six.
Austria native Stephanie Daxboeck led the cougars hitting .167 with four kills on 12 attempts. Freshman Sarita Mikals recorded seven kills and six digs for the Cougars while Kadi Kullerkann also had seven kills. Junior Natalie Keck recorded a 24 digs in three sets.
