Houston - The University of Houston will host the 2011 High School Cougar Classic Cross Country Carnival at 7:30 a.m., Saturday, at Buffalo Bayou Park.

The schedule for the meet is as follows:
7:30 a.m. Freshman girls 9:15 a.m. Sophomore Girls 7:50 a.m. Freshman Boys 9:35 a.m. Sophomore Boys 8:05 a.m. Senior Girls 9:50 a.m. Junior High Girls 8:25 a.m. Senior Boys 10 a.m. Junior High Boys 8:40 a.m. Junior Girls 10:30 a.m. AWARDS CEREMONY 9:00 a.m. Junior Boys
There is an entry fee of $10 per individual with a maximum of $70 per team. Boys and girls, high schools and middle schools are considered separate teams. Fee is based on the number of athletes entered, not participating. Checks should be made payable to "University of Houston" and attention to head coach Ryan Turner.
The deadline is quickly approaching. Coaches should enter their athletes through www.directathletics.com. The deadline for registration is 5 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 25.
Packets can be picked up at 6 a.m., on the morning of the race.
Team's places will be determined by the aggregate time of each school's five fastest runners, regardless of grade classification. Junior high races will not be scored. Delta Timing will time the meet.
There will be medals awarded for the first 15 individuals in each race. Places 4-15 will receive their medals in the finish line chute. All other awards will be handed out at the Awards Ceremony.
Team plaques will go to the top three teams in the high school divisions. An overall award will go to the top male and female performers of the meet.
Cougar Classic T-Shirts will be available for $15.
Due to the construction of the UH Intramural Fields, the course will be temporarily moved to Buffalo Bayou Park across from St. Thomas High School.

Spectator parking will be at St. Thomas High School. Bus parking is on Dickson Street & Jackson Hill Street.
