Volleyball Preps For Season Finale Against Rice Wednesday

HOUSTON - The University of Houston volleyball team will play host to the Rice Owls at 7p.m., Wednesday at the Athletics/Alumni Center in the Cougars' season finale.
Fans can follow all of the match's action through the Gametracker link on the volleyball schedule page or through the All Access video link on the Athletics website.
Volleyball fans in attendance are encouraged to bring canned goods to the match that will be donated to the Houston Food Bank as part of Community Service Day. Those who bring canned goods will be entered to win various prizes throughout the match.
Houston enters the match with an 18-11 record and an 11-8 mark in Conference USA play.
Senior Lucy Charuk leads the team with 365 kills and a league-best .390 hitting percentage. She also leads the team with 159 blocks, averaging 1.38 per set. Freshman Caitlin Ogletree has a team-high 1,154 assists and freshman Natalie Keck has a team-best 487 digs.
Rice enters the match with an 18-12 record and a 13-6 mark in league action.
Nancy Cole leads the team with 363 kills and a .329 hitting percentage. Megan Murphy and Megan White lead the team in assists with 121 and 101, respectively. White also leads the team with 480 digs and is one of four Owls with at least 200 digs.
Wednesday's match marks the second meeting this season between the two schools. Houston swept Rice, 3-0, on Sept. 20 at Tudor Fieldhouse to improve to 59-18 all-time against the Owls. Junior Katie Norris finished the contest with 17 kills and Ogletree had a game-high 40 assists. Keck also set a career-high with 26 digs.
