ASSISTANT COACH Wade Scott
Opening Statement:
"We started off quicker than we have in the last two games. I thought it really helped us overall. Any time you can score early and get a lead, it let's your players relax. The last two games we got off to a bad start so on every shot we took we were more tense. I definitely like this start a lot better that the last two games."
On Roxana Button:
"She can shoot the ball. Throughout this year I think she's been passive, but today she was aggressive and hit a couple of shots early to get the momentum going and stayed with it, and we stayed with her."
On the team:
"This team, when they want to play they will play. It's February and we had a tough road grind in playing Tulsa and SMU, which were both physical games. Then, we went to Southern Miss and UCF, which were two more physical games. I think we got tired last week and we had a couple of illnesses through out the week. It's about guts in February and tonight we had the guts. We'll see if we do on Saturday."
SOPHOMORE GUARD Roxana Button
On her game:
"I came out and tried to play hard to help our team win. My shots were falling, so I kept shooting them."
On the Cougars' great start:
"We came out and we were the aggressive ones."
