HOUSTON - Seven University of Houston cross country runners, three men and four women, will be competing in the NCAA South Central Regional competition this Saturday hosted by the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Running for the men will be the three front-end runners, senior Stephen Magness and sophomores Daniel Martinez and Ahmed Harb.
"These guys have been our most consistent runners throughout the season," head coach Ryan Turner said, "and I think they will do well in Arkansas."
For the women Jessica Cook, Erica Hannemann, Adriane Guinn and Kelcee Keenan will all get a chance to compete.
"We have an incredibly talented group of women," Turner said, "that need to race as much as possible. The more they race the more they learn. If we want to continue to have success indoor and outdoor then this is one more race for them to get that experience."
The men will kick off at 10 a.m. on Saturday with the women starting at 11:15 a.m. on the Razorback Cross Country Course at Agri Park.
