Fletcher Like

Fletcher Like was promoted to Associate Athletics Director for Strategic Communications in July 2025 after serving as Assistant Athletics Director of Communications and Social Media since September 2023 where he handles the communications and media relations efforts for the football program and is the spokesperson for the Athletics Department.Â
He joined the Houston Athletics Communications Department as the Assistant Director for Communications on Sept. 29, 2021 and was subsequently promoted to Director of Communications in September 2022.Â
In addition to his duties as the communications contact for baseball and football, he also handles the day-to-day social media responsibilities for the Houston Athletics (UHCougars) accounts including its planning, strategy and implementation. During the 2023 calendar year, the Houston Athletics accounts saw a 180% increase in engagement across Instagram, Facebook and X and produced over 950,000 engagement across all three platforms.Â
Prior to Houston, Like served in various roles at the University of Hawaii for two years, including as the social media coordinator for Hawaii Athletics social media accounts and as the primary contact for the baseball, women's water polo and track and field programs. For the first two months of the 2021 fall season, Like served as the primary contact for the historic Rainbow Wahine volleyball program.Â
As the social media coordinator for the main athletics accounts, Like helped improve the department's social media reach by through various types of social media content, ranking 27th nationally for total engagement (likes + shares + retweets, etc.) in May 2021 and 31st nationally in July 2021.
Like also helped with content creation and execution during Hawaii's men's volleyball national championship run in 2021, running the social media accounts for the MVB team and the main athletics accounts.Â
In 2020, Like helped launch Hawaii's TikTok account which has over 35.7k followers and over 600,000 likes under his supervision and ideation.Â
Before moving to Hawaii, Like served as a graduate assistant at Grand Canyon University. Like was the primary contact for the four-time WAC champion track and field program, winning both men's and women's indoor and outdoor titles in 2018-19.Â
While working with the track and field program, Like helped with the men's basketball team, baseball, softball and both soccer programs. Like's biggest project with the men's basketball program included putting together the 2018-19 media guide.Â
A native of Wilsonville, Oregon, he received his bachelors degree in communications from Grand Canyon in 2017 before earning his MBA in 2019. He resides in Houston and is looking for the next wave to catch.Â
