Sophomore Emilia Väistö paces Houston with 2-under First Round
HOUSTON – The Houston Women's Golf team finished the first round of the MountainView Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz., on Friday with a 287, one-over as a squad.
Sophomore Emilia Väistö led the Cougars with a two-under 70 and finished the day in seventh. She enters Round 2 six shots back from the clubhouse leader.
Senior Alexa Saldana and Junior Maelynn Kim posted even par rounds on the 6,405-yard course.
The Cougars tee off in Round 2 on Saturday at 10:20 on Hole 1.
