#10/7 Men’s Basketball Cruises Past Cincinnati

Four Cougars score in double figures as Houston handles Bearcats, 76-54
HOUSTON (AP) – Senior point guard Milos Uzan had 16 points, and the #10/7 University of Houston Men's Basketball team won its 38th straight game over an unranked opponent with a 76-54 victory against Cincinnati inside Fertitta Center on Saturday afternoon.Leading 16-13 with about eight minutes left in the first half, Houston outscored Cincinnati 16-5 over a nearly seven-minute span to take a 32-18 lead on a jumper by sophomore guard Mercy Miller.
Houston's lead never dipped below double-digits the rest of the way.
Senior guard Emanuel Sharp, freshman forward Chris Cenac Jr. and freshman guard Isiah Harwell each scored 13 for the Cougars (19-2, 7-1 Big 12).
Sharp has now drained 267 3-point field goals in his career and needs only 10 more treys to move past guard Marcus Sasser and set a Houston record.
Cenac scored all of his points in the first half on 5-of-7 shooting a s the Cougars built a 32-20 lead at the half. The New Orleans native tied his career high with three 3-point field goals.
Freshman point guard Kingston Flemings led all players with six assists against the Bearcats and dished out 5+ assists in his 10th straight game and for the 13th time in the last 14 games. The San Antonio, Texas, leads the Cougars with 114 assists and is only the seventh Cougar freshman to record 100+ assists in a season.
Houston won its 16th straight home game and its 14th straight over the Bearcats (11-11, 3-6). The Cougars also won for the 49th time in their last 50 home contests and improved to 120-7 in the Fertitta Center's history.
Houston shot 46% and 9-of-26 on 3-pointers. The Cougars forced 19 turnovers and converted them into 26 points.
Ranked second nationally in fewest turnovers per game, the Cougars finished with only four turnovers and held a 26-8 advantage in points in the paint.
Jalen Celestine had 15 points and Keyshuan Tillery scored 14 for Cincinnati. The Bearcats shot 38% and went 10-of-23 on 3-pointers.
Following the game, Houston Vice President for Athletics Eddie Nuñez addressed fans and informed the sellout crowd that Houston Coach Kelvin Sampson had been selected for induction into the Houston Athletics Hall of Honor later this fall.
