Women’s Golf Ties for Eighth at Schooner Fall Classic

Senior Natalie Saint Germain tied for 17th at 1-under 209

Schools were originally scheduled to play 18 holes each day through Monday. However, the threat of inclement weather forced tournament organizers to change to a 36-hole schedule on the 6,182-yard, par-70 course on Saturday.
The Cougars posted a two-day, 54-hole score of 845 to tie with Virginia Tech in the final team standings.
Senior Natalie Saint finished with a score of 1-under 209 to tie for 16th. It was the third Top-20 finish of her career at the Schooner Fall Classic.
As a freshman during the 2022-23 season, Saint Germain tied for 10th with a score of 207, thanks to a school-record 64 in the Final Round. Two years later, the Prague native fired back-to-back rounds in the 60s and tied for fifth with a score of 4-under 136.
Junior Ellen Yates posted an even-par 70 for the Cougars' low round of the day and tied with senior Alexa Saldana for 21st at 210. Making her Houston debut after transferring from Mercer this summer, sophomore Emilia Vaisto tied for 51st at 216.
Senior Moa Svedenskiold tied for 57th at 217 while redshirt freshman Chiara Brambilla, making her collegiate debut tied for 73rd at 222 while playing as an individual.
Oklahoma State captured the team championship with a score of 822 while TCU finished second at 829. Oklahoma (832), Iowa State (834), UCF (835), Florida State (837) and Tulsa (846) completed the Top 10.
TCU's Gracie McGovern and Georgia's Sydney Givens shared medalist honors with a score of 201 and finished one stroke ahead of Grace Kilcrease (Oklahoma State) and Meg Tilma (Oklahoma). Iowa State's Pimkwan Chooaew and Reagan Chaney of Oklahoma tied for fifth at 204.
UP NEXT
Following the Schooner Fall Classic, Houston returns to action when it competes at the Jim West Challenge at Kissing Tree Golf Club in San Marcos, Texas, on Oct. 19-20.
From there, the Cougars close their fall season at the Landfall Tradition at Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C., on Oct. 24-26.
After the winter break, Houston begins its spring season at the Collegiate Individual at Guadalajara Country Club in Guadalajara, Mexico, on Jan. 30-31.
