
Women’s Golf Continues Play at Landfall Tradition

Junior Moa Svedenskiöld at even-par 144 to tie for 12th and lead Cougars entering Sunday’s Final Round
WILMINGTON, N.C. – The University of Houston Women's Golf program continued play during the Second Round of the Landfall Tradition at Country Club of Landfall on Saturday.Houston posted a Second-Round score of 303 and stood in a tie with Virginia Tech for 11th with a two-day total of 593 on the 6,109-yard, par-72 Pete Dye Course.
North Carolina held the team lead with a score of 572 to finish three shots ahead of UCF. SMU stood in third at 576 with Wake Forest (583), Duke (583), Kentucky (583), South Carolina (588), Indiana (588), Kent State (590) and host UNCW (590) rounding out the Top 10.
Kent State's Veronika Kedronova stood atop the individual leaderboard at 134 with North Carolina's Megan Streicher in second at 138. Avery McCrery (Duke), Pimpisa Sisutham (UCF), Emily Odwin (SMU) and Mila Jurine (UCF) were tied for third at 142.
Senior Moa Svedenskiöld was tied for 12th with a score of even-par 144 to lead the Cougars. Senior Alexa Saldaña posted the Cougars' low round of the day and was tied for 22nd at 146 while senior Natalie Saint Germain was tied for 56th at 151.
Junior Maelynn Kim was tied for 61st at 152 while junior Ellen Yates was tied for 88th at 157.
The Final Round begins with a 7:45 a.m. (CDT) split-tee start Sunday. The event is free and open to all fans. Spectators should use the Eastwood Road entrance to Landfall.
The Landfall Tradition will be the final team event for the Cougars during the fall season. Houston will send three individuals to compete at The Bear Brawl at Ridgewood Country Club in Waco, Texas, on Tuesday, in a recent addition to the program's schedule.

For Sunday's Final Round, the Cougars will compete in groups with student-athletes from Virginia Tech and UNCW beginning at 7:45 a.m. (CDT)
Svedenskiöld begins the day off No. 9 with Saint Germain (first group off No. 10), Saldaña (second group off No. 10), Yates (first group off No. 11) and Kim (second group off No. 11) following.

UP NEXT
Following the Landfall Tradition, three Cougars will compete as individuals at The Bear Brawl, hosted by Baylor at Ridgewood Country Club in Waco, Texas, on Oct. 28.
Redshirt freshman Chiara Brambilla, sophomore Emilia Väistö and freshman Sadie Adams will represent Houston in a recent addition to the Cougars' schedule. Adams will make her collegiate debut at that event after an award-winning junior career.
Following the winter break, Houston returns to action to begin its spring season at the Collegiate Individual at Guadalajara Country Club in Guadalajara, Mexico, on Jan. 30-31.
