
Chase Farris Qualifies for NCAA Championships

Cougar diver set to compete for a second consecutive year
MADISON, Wisc. – University of Houston junior Chase Farris qualified for the 2022 NCAA Division I Swimming & Diving Championships after securing a ninth-place finish at the platform at the 2022 NCAA Zone D Diving Championships on Wednesday afternoon.

Jolie Blodgett, Josie Graves and Farris competed on the final day of the 2022 NCAA Zone D Diving Championships at the Soderholm Aquatic Center on the campus of University of Wisconsin. Farris and Graves placed among the top-18 finishers of the event advancing to finals.

In preliminary action, Farris placed eighth after posting a five-dive scoring total of 255.10. Graves followed in 16th-place with a preliminary score of 218.25 points. Blodgett finished in the 25th position with 187.70 points.

In finals, Farris placed ninth (522.00) with an average round score of 53.38, earning a bid to the 2022 NCAA Division I Swimming & Diving Championships for a second consecutive year.

Graves, a freshman, qualified for finals for the first time at the competition, finishing 17th with a score of 432.55.

Farris will be representing the University of Houston Swimming & Diving team at the 2022 NCAA Division I Swimming & Diving Championships on March 16-19 in Atlanta at Georgia Tech's McAuley Aquatic Center.
