Houston Concludes 3-Meter at Zone Diving Championships

Cougar trio to compete at the University of Kentucky
HOUSTON –  Katie Deininger and Chase Farris concluded the 3-Meter at the 2021 NCAA Zone D Championships at the Lancaster Aquatic Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

Farris advanced to the final of the 3-Meter after posting a six-dive scoring total of 294.55 in the prelims. In the final, Farris finishes in 16th-place with a total score of 575.00. Her best dive came in the third round when she completed a Forward 3 ½ Somersault Pike, earning a score of 58.90.

Deininger closed out the day with a 20th-place finish in the prelims. She compiled a six-dive scoring total of 290.30. Her best dive was in the second around when she successfully completed a Back 2 ½ Somersault Pike earning a score of 52.50.

Farris and Hedda Grelz will compete tomorrow in the Platform with the aim of qualifying for the 2021 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships. The top-9 finishers in the Platform will advance.
