BATON ROUGE, La. -- With four Cougars among the Top-20 leaders, the University of Houston Women's Golf program finished second at the LSU Tiger Classic with a score of 54-hole total of 904 on Sunday afternoon at University Club.
The Cougars, who stand at No. 26 in the latest Golfstat rankings, posted a team score of 302 in Sunday's play on the 6,247-yard, par-72 course.
Junior Leonie Harm posted an even-par 72 Sunday, thanks to three birdies, and finished second with a score of 220. It was the Gerlingen, Germany, native's fourth top-10 finish this season and the 11th of her career.
Senior Megan Thothong tied for third at 221 for a season-best finish and the 12th Top-10 finish of her career. Competing as an individual, sophomore Amanda Elich tied for 10th at 226, while senior Courtney Tibiletti tied for 19th at 232.
Senior Allie Andersen and junior Tatiana Pineda tied for 22nd at 233. Junior Yuka Kajiki tied for 45th at 241.
Host and 48th-ranked LSU captured the team championship at 902. No. 25 Virginia and No. 38 NC State tied for third at 917, while Mercer finished fifth at 927.
Individually, LSU's Claudia De Antonio earned medalist honors at 1-under 215. Following Harm, Thothong joined UTSA's Julie Houston in a tie for third at 221, while Virginia's Katharine Patrick finished fifth at 223.
UP NEXT
Following the LSU Tiger Classic, the Cougars close out the regular season when they tee off at the Bruzzy Challenge on April 2-3 at Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton, Texas.
From there, the team enters the postseason beginning with the American Athletic Conference Championships on the Conservatory Course at Hammock Beach Golf & Spa Resort in Palm Coast, Fla., on April 15-17.
