NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas â€" University of Houston sophomore Leonie Harm stood in second place at +2 late in her Second Round before darkness halted play at the Texas State Invitational at The Bandit Golf Club on Monday evening.
Play was suspended due to darkness at 6:29 p.m., Monday. The Second Round will be completed at 8:30 a.m., Tuesday with the Final Round immediately following.
After opening the two-day, 54-hole tournament with a 1-under-par 70 on the 6,032-yard, par-71 course, Harm stood at 3-over through 15 holes in the afternoon session. She stood one stroke behind leader Ariana Macioce of Georgia Southern, who was at +1.
Starting her day on No. 13, Harm struggled early with back-to-back bogeys on Nos. 15-16. However, the Gerlingen, Germany, native regrouped with consecutive birdies on Nos. 17-18 and drained eight straight pars before sinking her third and final birdie of the round on the 372-yard, par-4 ninth hole.
In the afternoon round, Harm overcame a double bogey on No. 17 and gained a stroke back with a birdie on the par-5 third hole. She had three holes remaining in her Second Round before play was suspended.
Junior Megan Thothong was tied for 12th at +7 through 12 holes in the Second Round. In her First Round, the Dallas native overcame consecutive birdies on Nos. 16-17 with back-to-back birdies on No. 18 and No. 1 and added another birdie on No. 4.
Despite bogeying No. 5, Thothong rallied with her fourth and final birdie of the round on No. 7 and finished the morning round with a 72. She stood at 6-over in the Second Round with three holes remaining when play was halted.
Junior Courtney Tibiletti was tied for 24th at +10, while junior Kelli Rollo was tied for 46th at +13.
With only four student-athletes competing, the Cougars were not eligible for the team title. Host Texas State held the first-day lead at +25 to stand one stroke in front of UTSA (+26) and nine strokes ahead of Central Arkansas (+34) and Georgia Southern (+34).
North Dakota State (+39), North Texas (+39), UTEP (+40), Stephen F. Austin (+44), Incarnate Word (+48) and Little Rock (+49) rounded out the top-10 leaders.

PAIRINGS
For Tuesday's Final Round, the Cougars are scheduled to compete in groups with student-athletes from UTEP and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Harm will tee off No. 13 with Tibiletti in the first group off No. 14. Thothong will be in the second group off No. 14, while Rollo begins her spring season in the second group off No. 15.
UP NEXT
Following the Texas State Invitational, the Cougars open their spring team season when they compete at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate Championship on Feb. 19-21 at English Turn Country Club in New Orleans.
From there, the Cougars host their first tournament in program history when they compete at The Dickson on Feb. 27-28 on the Tournament Course at The Woodlands Country Club in The Woodlands, Texas.
