ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Isaiah Sykes scored 24 points and Daiquan Walker contributed 20 as UCF coasted past Houston 104-83 Friday night inside CFE Arena.
Matt Williams added 12 points and Staphon Blair 11 for the Knights (12-17, 4-14 American Athletic Conference), who won for only the second time in their last six games.
Jherrod Stiggers led Houston (16-15, 8-10) with a career-high 22 points and Danuel House added 18. L.J. Rose finished with 16 points and 10 assists for the first double-double of his career as the Cougars saw their four-game winning streak come to an end.
UCF built a 25-point lead in the first 13 minutes of the game, dominating the action inside and out. Sykes had 16 points in the first half and UCF shot 54.3 percent from the field.
Houston, playing its fourth game in eight days, hit only 3 of its first 16 shots. The Cougars were down 36-11 at that point and got no closer than 13 the rest of the way.

Following Friday's game, the Cougars will compete at the inaugural American Athletic Conference Championship, scheduled for March 12-15 at Memphis' FedExForum. Houston will compete as the No. 6 seed and play at noon, Thursday in the first game of the Quarterfinals.
Houston will face the No. 3 seed - either SMU or UConn, at noon, Thursday. The Cougars' specific opponent will be finalized and announced with the completion of the regular season by Saturday evening.
