Houston Plays Baylor In Space City Basketball Classic

The University of Houston men's basketball team will be looking for their first win of the 2002-03 season when the Cougars meet Baylor in the Space City Basketball Classic at Reliant Stadium on Saturday, November 30.
Houston enters the game with a 0-2 record this year after suffering a 71-53 loss at Rice last Wednesday night. The Cougars opened the season with a 78-75 loss against Prairie View A&M on November 23.
Baylor is 2-0 after beating Northwestern State, 82-54, in Waco last Wednesday night. The Bears opened the season with an 81-61 victory over Alcorn State in the Dallas Lonestar Basketball Classic on November 23.
This will mark the 53rd meeting between Houston and Baylor. The Cougars have a 38-14 series record against the Bears. Two of those meetings have been on neutral courts and both came when the two schools were members of the Southwest Conference. Houston suffered a 54-52 loss in the 1987 SWC Postseason Classic in Dallas after winning an 83-82 decision in the 1979 SWC Postseason Classic in the Compaq Center.
