Middleton Grabs Weekly Football Honor

The 5-11, 182-pound sophomore had a career night in the hard-fought loss to the Tigers. Middleton set career highs in three major categories, catching eight passes for 175 yards and two touchdowns. Several of his catches were highlight-reel variety, including his one-handed grab in the corner of the endzone to cut the Tigers' lead to 21-13.
Middleton started his first game of the season against LSU, replacing the injured Kendall Williams. So far in 2000 Middleton has 14 receptions for a team-leading 226 yards. He currently ranked sixth in the nation in receptions per game with an even seven and tied for 10th nationally in receiving yards/game with 113.0.
Last season Middleton started seven games as a true freshman, finishing third on the team in receptions with 18 for 222 yards and one score.
